McConnell Blooms is run by me, Anne Smith from my home in rural Perthshire.
The plot is in my back field! I grow lots of different varieties and styles of flowers and foliage, many of which are scented. You may not see them in traditional florists but you will see them in gardens, verges and meadows throughout the country. My growing season is largely dictated by the seasons and weather of Scotland so it runs from April to the end of October. Please ask as sometimes cutting starts earlier in the year or can go on later. I also save and dry flowers and foliage during the season so as to have interesting textures for use in arrangements.
My style of floristry is guided very much by what I am picking that day. So every time I cut for an order it will be different depending on what is looking best on that day. With this in mind my flowers lend themselves to a freshly cut, slightly wild ‘garden style’. I may not be able to promise a specific variety on a particular day but I can promise bountiful, scented, flowers that will lift your spirit. I enjoy being involved in different events and interpreting your visions to create flower and foliage installations and decorations which are all unique.
All my flowers are cut 24-48 hours before delivery. They will have the lower leaves stripped off for better vase life and be conditioned in water only (no chemicals). You can order as many or as few as you like, delivery is possible ( however there will be a milage charge) and I will do my very best to fulfil all requests.
