Anne Smith

Perthshire, Scotland

McConnell Blooms is run by me, Anne Smith, from my home in rural Perthshire.

I grow my flowers close to the house. This allows me to work with and supply many different varieties, styles and scents of flowers and foliage. I love to offer flowers that are just a bit different from the traditional florist.

My growing season is largely dictated by the seasons and weather of Scotland. Typically we can supply from April to the end of October. However cutting can start early and go on later, so please ask. I also save and dry flowers and foliage during the season to offer interesting colours and textures for use in arrangements. This means that even when the fresh growing season ends we can still offer truly scottish grown dried flowers and textures reflecting the season and very environmentally friendly.

My floristry is guided very much by what I am picking that day. Every time I cut for an order it will be different, concentrating on what is looking best that day. My flowers often lend themselves to a freshly cut, slightly wild ‘garden style’. I may not be able to promise a specific variety on a particular day but I can promise vibrant, scented, flowers that will lift your spirit. I enjoy working on events and interpreting your visions for flowers and foliage installations and decorations which are all unique.

All my flowers are cut 24-48 hours before delivery. They will have the lower leaves stripped off to improve vase life and be conditioned in plain water (no chemicals). You can order as many or as few as you like, delivery is possible (though there may be a mileage charge). I will do my very best to fulfil all requests.

Please feel free to contact me here to discuss your ideas.
